IDW Publishing has announced plans to release a Highlander prequel. This comic miniseries, entitled The Origins of Highlander, will be inspired by the 1986 fantasy movie.
According to the press release, the story will “explore Connor MacLeod’s journey, both physical and internal, that led him to become humanity’s immortal champion. From medieval Scotland to Civil War-era Pennsylvania to mid-century Manhattan, readers will meet compelling new characters, such as immortal Osta Vazilek, and revisit fan favorites.”
Brian Ruckley will write the story. Andrea Mutti will create the artwork. The release date has been set for February 2017.
