How to Build a Literary Android App

By Jason Boog

The time has never been better to build your own literary app for tablet computers and smartphones that use Google’s Android platform. With the new App Inventor tool explored in the video above, Google has simplified the process of building your own apps.

Google explained the new tool: “Often people begin by building games like WhackAMole or games that let you draw funny pictures on your friend’s faces … You can also build apps that inform and educate. You can create a quiz app to help you and your classmates study for a test. With Android’s text-to-speech capabilities, you can even have the phone ask the questions aloud.”

As eBookNewser reported today, the Android market has grown from under 10,000 apps to 90,000 apps in the last year. With this new tool, the change could be even steeper. If you end up building your own Android App for your book, email us–we’d love to hear your story.
