HarperCollins Settles Terms With Amazon

HarperCollins and Amazon have come to terms and renewed their multiyear publishing contract.

“HarperCollins has reached an agreement with Amazon and our books will continue to be available on the Amazon print and digital platforms,” the publisher said in a statement.

According to The New York Times, the publisher signed the same contract as Simon & Schuster, Hachette and Macmillan. “All the agreements allow the publishers to set their own e-book prices, a major point of contention, but give them financial encouragement to price cheaply,” reports The Times.

Earlier this month rumors were reported that the negotiation between the two companies was heated.
