Harlequin Gets Romance Fans Reading for Charity

Dear Author blogger Jane Litte comments on Harlequin‘s 100,000 book challenge. For every book that readers who have eHarlequin.com blogs read and review online this year, Harlequin will donate a book to the National Center for Family Literacy. (The publisher notes that it would be nice if 50 percent of the books read were Harlequins.)

This is the third year Harlequin has worked to get romance fans reading more and more books. Last year, when they set the bar at 10,000 books, participants responded by finishing 24,400. So far this year, I’m told, a little more than 350 readers have already passed the 1,000-book mark.
