First Grimm’s Fairy Tales was a book, then a television show, and now, it is an enhanced eBook based on the TV show. The digital offering is AppNewser’s Free eBook of the Day today.
NBC Entertainment has released the new eBook as a companion to its show Grimm, a drama based on Grimm’s Fairy Tales.
AppNewser has more about the enhanced eBook: “the enhanced eBook includes background profiles of each character, behind-the-scenes footage of the actors getting their make up done, a multi-generational journal from the Grimm family, and videos. The videos include a recap of last season, a preview for the coming season, and the pilot for the show is available as a free download. The eBook requires an iPad with iBooks 2.” The enhanced edition is only available for the iPad. A static eBook edition is now available for the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet.
This isn’t the first time that NBC has made an eBook based on a TV show. Mashable has more: “The Grimm interactive companion follows a growing trend of second screen ebooks. Last month, TNT launched a free interactive bookthrough Apple’s iBookstore to accompany the fourth season of Leverage. According to the show’s executive producer and director, Dean Devlin, TNT is hoping to publish iBook companions for every season thus far.”
