Glenn Beck Earns $13 Million a Year in Publishing

0511book.jpgA new Forbes magazine profile looks at the media empire of conservative personality Glenn Beck, revealing a surprising fact–publishing appears to be the most lucrative arm of his business.

The author and talk show host pulls in $13 million a year through his print operations, dwarfing the $2 million he earns from television. This summer he’ll test the limits of his publishing career with a new novel, The Overton Window. As we’ve noted, Beck also holds an Oprah-like sway over conservative readers.

Here’s the crucial passage from the article: “He has managed to monetize virtually everything that comes out of his mouth. He gets $13 million a year from print (books plus the ten-issue-a-year magazine Fusion). Radio brings in $10 million. Digital (including a newsletter, the ad-supported Glennbeck.com and merchandise) pulls in $4 million. Speaking and events are good for $3 million and television for $2 million.” (Via Gawker)
