Former Goldman Sachs Executive Director Greg Smith Shopping Book

Greg Smith, the former Goldman Sachs executive director who quit his job earlier this month in a scathing New York Times op-ed, is reportedly looking for a book deal. He is said to be working with literary agent Paul Fedorko.

The New York Times has more: “According to several people who were present, Mr. Smith described his book as a coming-of-age story, the tale of someone who came into the business with good intentions and sky-high ideals that were ultimately pierced by Goldman’s obsessive focus on making money.”

In the op-ed, Smith blasts the company’s current management, who ha claims has ruined the culture at the financial powerhouse. Here is more from his post: “To put the problem in the simplest terms, the interests of the client continue to be sidelined in the way the firm operates and thinks about making money.” (Via Gothamist).
