First Second Books will publish a bakery-themed graphic novel entitled Bloom. Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau will work together for the first time on this “coming-of-age love story.”
According to Mashable, “Panetta’s love of baking was the key ingredient for Bloom’s setting.” Both collaborators have learned a lot about baking for the sake of the project.
Panetta feels that this book is “evocative of those teen movies that I really love, like Say Anything or Can’t Hardly Wait or 10 Things I Hate About You.” The release date has been scheduled for 2018. (via the First Second Books tumblr page)
