Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ari Folman plans to create “a family-driven animated” movie inspired by The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.
Folman will serve as both the director and the screenwriter. Production is scheduled to start next year.
In the past, Frank’s autobiography has served as the basis for a variety of different adaptation projects. According to Deadline, “this is the first time a director/producer team has been granted full access to all the archives of the Anne Frank Fonds Basel, which was founded in 1963 by Anne’s father Otto Frank.” What do you think?
