Fan Made Movie Trailer Bashes Eat, Pray, Love

By Jason Boog

In a fan-made trailer bashing adaptations of Twilight and Julie & Julia, The Monocular Group scored nearly 150,000 views for a video urging men to see the violent male-centric film The Expendables. The trailer hopes that the action movie will beat an adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love at the box office on August 13th.

Here’s an excerpt from the explosive video embedded above: “AUGUST 13TH YOU WILL SEE THIS MOVIE NOT OFF YOUR TORRENTS IN A F**ING THEATER WHERE VIOLENCE BELONGS. IF WE DON’T? IF THIS LOSES TO EAT, PRAY, LOVE? YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE A MAN.”

What do you think? Have a recent crop of adaptations ruined the market for good old fashioned action movies? Could The Expendables–directed by
Sylvester Stallone and starring everybody from Jet Li to Mickey Rourke to Jason Statham–put up a fight against Eat, Pray, Love? (Via Melissa Lafsky)
