Fairy Tales at Toy Fair

By Jason Boog

TF10.JPGGalleyCat prowled the colorful aisles of the 2010 Toy Fair yesterday, finding the literary offerings amid a sea of electronics, teddy bears, and toy cars.

Fairies seemed to be one of the fair’s big trends. In less than an hour, we spotted fairy dresses, fairy dolls, fairy houses, and fairy books. We caught up with two literary fairy exhibitors to find out why.

In this exclusive GalleyCat video, we spoke with Tracy Kane, one of the co-founders and co-authors of the The Fairy Houses Series–books dedicated to teaching children how to build fairy houses in nature. We also interviewed Mark Forti, one of the creators of Flitter Fairies–flying fairy toys that come complete with a fantastical book.
