eBook Gift Cards Designed With Book Covers

By Dianna Dilworth

Giving the gift of eBooks has always been kind of complicated. Amazon and Kobo let you send eBooks virtually to your friend’s email address, but sometimes you want to give someone a physical gift they can open.

Livrada is trying to solve this problem.

The startup offers gift cards for specific book titles designed with the book’s title. You can even buy gift wrap options that include a book page and ribbon or a dictionary-themed envelope.

Don’t know which device your friend reads on? Not a problem. The card comes with a redemption code for the option to download that title from your choice of eBook stores. To redeem, a gift recipient has to enter the pin number on the card and their email address, and then choose which eBookstore they would like to download the book in — Kindle, Nook or Kobo (so long as the title is available in these stores).

AppNewser has more: “The company currently only about twenty titles, but hopefully they will be able to offer more as it catches on. Titles include: Rich Dad, Poor Dad1,000 Places to See Before You Die and When I’m 164.”
