Dr. Seuss & Jodi Picoult Books Debut on the Indie Bestseller List

By Maryann Yin

We’ve collected the books debuting on Indiebound’s Indie Bestseller List for the week ending March 04, 2012–a sneak peek at the books everybody will be talking about next month.

(Debuted at #3 in Hardcover Fiction) The Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult: “In the wild, when a wolf knows its time is over, when it knows it is of no more use to its pack, it may sometimes choose to slip away. Dying apart from its family, it stays proud and true to its nature. Humans aren’t so lucky.” (February 2012)

(Debuted at #10 in Hardcover Nonfiction) The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg: “With penetrating intelligence and an ability to distill vast amounts of information into engrossing narratives, Duhigg brings to life a whole new understanding of human nature and its potential for transformation. Along the way we learn why some people and companies struggle to change, despite years of trying, while others seem to remake themselves overnight.” (February 2012)

(Debuted at #13 in Children’s Illustrated) The Lorax (Pop-Up Edition) by Dr. Seuss: “Dr. Seuss’s well-known and well-loved The Lorax is as timely now as it was when it was first published in 1971—perhaps even more so. This bestselling ecological warning is now available in an elaborate pop-up book, published in conjunction with the release of The Lorax feature film on March 2, 2012—Ted Geisel’s birthday.” (January 2012)
