516cV6HTvWLHave you ever heard of a book review written in verse? Michiko Kakutani, a Pulitzer Prize-winning critic, wrote one for What Pet Should I Get? by Dr. Seuss.

Here’s an excerpt from Kakutani’s New York Times piece: “Filled with creatures both real and zany, It shows off his gift for creating a zoo. Two-legged, four-legged, winged and finned, Beasties familiar and entirely new!”

The story stars two siblings who seek to bring in a new addition to their family. The same brother and sister characters appears in One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

Random House Books for Young Readers has ordered a first printing of 1 million copies. The publication date for this picture book has been set for July 28.
