UK crime novelist Reginald Hill has passed away. He was 75 years old.

According to The Guardian, Hill enjoyed creative writing as a child but did not try to write professionally until he turned 30. He has published more than 50 titles throughout his career.

Here’s more from another Guardian piece: “Hill was best known for his crime novels about Dalziel and Pascoe, which were adapted for BBC television from 1996 to 2007 … he refused to turn out one a year – the norm for crime writers with a series – preferring instead to alternate them with thrillers, historical novels, science fiction and, later, a smaller humorous series set in Luton, featuring the black private detective Joe Sixsmith.” (Photo Credit: Miriam Berkley)
