Two actors have signed on to star in the Gerald’s Game film adaptation: Bruce Greenwood and Carla Gugino. They will play husband-and-wife characters Gerald and Jessie Burlingame. The story for this Netflix project comes from Stephen King’s 1992 novel.
Here’s more from Deadline: “Gerald and Jessie Burlingame head to their summer home on a warm weekday in October for a romantic interlude that involves adult games. After being handcuffed to her bedposts, Jessie tires of her husband’s games, until things take an unexpectedly tragic turn. She’s left handcuffed, trapped and alone as painful memories from her childhood bedevil her.”
Entertainment Weekly reports that Greenwood and Gugino join a cast that already includes Kate Siegal, Chiara Aurelia, Henry Thomas, and Carel Struycken. Mike Flanagan has come on board as the director. At this point in time, no release date has been announced. (via Screen Crush)
