The book trailers in GalleyCat’s Book Trailer Theater this week took a decidedly narrative turn–two publishers created suspenseful video stories to pitch books by two young literary men.
First up, Scribner built a spooky video to support “The Unknown Knowns,” a new novel by Jeffrey Rotter. It’s a narrated slide-show through an imaginary civilization that would have fit inside a Jorge Luis Borges short story.
Then Farrar, Straus and Giroux built this animated video to promote Wells Tower’s collection of short stories, “Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned.” It dramatizes the surreal journey of a Viking attack ship in the titular story.
