Book Deal For Ousted US Attorney

PW Daily’s Matthew Thornton reports that David Iglesias, the former U.S. attorney for the District of New Mexico who was one of nine federal prosecutors fired by the Bush administration, has just signed a book deal. Eric Nelson at John Wiley, who took North American rights in an auction conducted by Sandra Dijkstra. In the book, Iglesias will reveal his side of the story in the evolving U.S. attorney scandal that has compromised the tenure of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Iglesias, who served as the U.S. attorney for New Mexico from October 2001 to February 2007, was also chairman of a committee of U.S. attorneys that advised former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft on border and immigration issues. He will write the yet-to-be-titled memoir with Davin Seay, and Wiley anticipates an April 2008 pub date.
