Today Barnes & Noble released a host of new Nook Color features, including Nook Apps and Nook Email services–bringing a new level of functionality to the eReader space.
eBookNewser has more: “One of the apps that comes with the update is Nook Friends. This app is designed to help readers form virtual book clubs (like GoodReads) but it also will let you share an eBook. That could be a serious blow to the eBook lending sites if properly managed. People would no longer have to go look for a site; all they’d have to do is open the app on their NookColor.”
Here’s more about the update: “The software update will be automatically downloaded to devices that are registered and connected to Wi-Fi, beginning the week of April 25 and over the coming weeks. There’s no need for you to take any action.”
