Brooklyn poet Syreeta McFadden (left) chats with Nelly Reifler at Lower East Side performance space Cake Shop last Thursday during the inaugural night of Melissa Febos and Rebecca Keith‘s Mixer reading series, which brings together poetry, fiction and nonfiction in a single evening. Reifler shared the stage with Robert Lopez, Craig Teicher, and Leslie Shipman, along with a musical performance by Cat Martino. The next event in the series is scheduled for April 18 with a confirmed appearance by poet Vijay Seshadri.
