French comic book creator Albert Uderzo, one of the creators of the Asterix and Obelix comic book series, is suing his daughter and son-in-law in a bizarre family story surrounding the elder Uderzo’s literary estate.
In the lawsuit, Uderzo is claiming that he experienced “psychological violence” from the pair. According to a report in The Guardian, the story has a colored history. Back in 2007, his daughter Sylvie and her husband Bernard worked for the publishing company that published the book series. They were fired and a year later Uderzo sold his half of the company to Hachette Livre. In 2011, Sylvie filed a suit claiming that her father was being taken advantage of by people around him.

However this week, Uderzo issued a statement that his daughter was “introducing and extending legal procedures that have no foundation.” He rejected the claim that he was in a “state of fragility”, and said that he is being harassed.
