The cover has been unveiled for Kerry Kletter’s young adult novel, The First Time She Drowned. We’ve embedded the full image for the jacket design above—what do you think?
Lyndsey Andrews served as the designer for this project. Philomel Books, an imprint at Penguin Young Readers, will publish the book on March 15, 2016.
In an interview with the Publishing Crawl blog, Kletter shared her thoughts on the cover: “The image really captures both the vulnerability and self-protection of the main character as well as the haunting mood of the story as it pertains to water and struggle and beauty in a way that I never imagined possible. I love the details— the double exposure and the water spots and the sense of movement.”
