25-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Raises Funds for Comic Book

By Jason Boog

25-year-old Kaylin Marie hopes to raise $8,500 to self-publish the “World’s Awesomest Cancer Comic Book,” a sci-fi version of her battle with a rare form of bone cancer. Above, we’ve embedded a video introduction to her project.

Here’s more about the project: “‘Terminally Illin’ is a candid look into the life of a young adult battling cancer, but with a psychedelic-sci-fi twist! It’s more than a comic book: It’s provocative, educational, entertaining, and totally original. Our heroine travels inside her own body with her pet battle-kitty, to take on the evil nazi tumors, cancer aliens, and The Tumornator – on a microscopic level, where cancer starts. Entering the world of cancer feels a lot like falling down the rabbit hole – think of ‘Terminally Illin’ as a crazy, chemo-induced Alice in Wonderland adventure, with as much ‘Family Guy humor’ that we could squeeze in.”
