Fear Street20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment plan to shoot a movie based on R.L. Stine’s Fear Street books. To date, Stine has written about 100 titles for this young adult series.

Stine published the first Fear Street book back in 1989 and continued to write new installments until 1999. After a 15 year hiatus, Stine rebooted the series with the release of Fear Street: Party Games in September 2014.

Here’s more from The Wrap: “Aimed at horror-loving teenagers, Fear Street takes place in the fictional city of Shadyside, Ohio. Some stories feature the kind of supernatural activity found in Stine’s Goosebumps series, but most of the Fear Street books are simply murder mysteries that offer more violence than Goosebumps.” (via The Mary Sue)
