The cover has been unveiled for Kat Zhang’s forthcoming book, The Emperor’s Riddle. This project marks Zhang’s debut as a middle grade author.
We’ve embedded the full image for the jacket design above—what do you think? Aladdin, an imprint at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, will release this book in Summer 2017.
Zhang wrote a post on the Publishing Crawl blog and shared her thoughts on the cover design: “I honestly love what the artist and designer came up with for The Emperor’s Riddle. It’s a little bit action-y, a little bit mysterious. It delves into the story’s setting (China!) without being super cliche about it.
