Logan Paul Posts New Apology for Suicide Victim Video: ‘I Don’t Expect to Be Forgiven…’

YouTube star Logan Paul has released a new online statement where he once again apologizes for his behavior during his recent video about a suicide victim. (Mediaite)

The video showed a dead body hanging from a tree in a Japanese forest known as a destination for suicide victims. Paul, 22, posted an apology on Twitter after the video attracted a torrent of criticism online, saying he had published it in an attempt to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention. Paul expressed remorse for sharing the video in a written apology on Monday night, and he followed it up with a Tuesday video that struck a similar tone. He says at the start of the video: “I’ve made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgment and I don’t expect to be forgiven; I’m simply here to apologize.” (Mashable)

He went on to note that the reactions to the dead body were “raw and unfiltered,” and that he regrets posting the video and recording the body. “For my fans who are defending my actions, please don’t,” he added. “They do not deserve to be defended.” The video received more than 6 million views before being pulled down.
