W+K to Open Sao Paulo Office Dec. 1, Doria to Co-Lead

Well, it sure didn’t take long for Icaro Doria to land back on his feet after his departure from Goodby. As a few of our commenters hinted at in the thread from last week’s post, Doria is heading back to his native Brazil and will join the executive management team at W+K’s new Sao Paulo office, which is set to open on Dec. 1.

Along with Doria, who will serve as ECD at W+K’s Brazilian operation, André Gustavo Soares will take on the post of managing director in Sao Paulo. Soares has spent the past three years as account services director at F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi and previously served as the Asia/Amet regional category director for Unilever at JWT Bangkok. In a statement, W+K namesake and global ECD Dan Wieden says the agency’s nabbed “two of the world’s best to open this office,” adding, “One more to go and the leadership team will take to their desks in earnest.”

The Sao Paulo branch marks the eighth office in Wieden + Kennedy’s global network.
