We Hear: Crocs Looking for a New Digital Agency Partner

By Patrick Coffee

Today sources tell us that low-key footwear brand and Mario Batali favorite Crocs is looking for a new agency to handle its digital creative work.

McKinney won a review in November 2014 to become the brand’s global creative agency of record, though sources tell us that the shop and its client recently ended their relationship. Crocs was the first global account that McKinney won after being acquired by Cheil Worldwide in 2012.

That review also marked the selection of Crocs’ first global agency since the brand decided to bring most of its marketing work in-house in 2010. TDA_Boulder and Cramer-Krasselt had previously worked on the account.

A Crocs representative wrote: “We are fortunate to have some of the best agency partners in the world and look forward to their continued impact on our business by creating even stronger connections with our consumers.”

When asked for clarification, Crocs PR declined to confirm that it had launched a formal review or provide additional details regarding its agency relationships. McKinney representatives have not yet commented on the status of the account.

The Cheil agency’s work over the past 18 months has primarily expanded on the brand’s #FindYourFun initiative, including various media partnerships and appearances on top programs like The Today Show.
