-Our calls to NYC agency Lipman went unanswered this week and now we know why. Tipsters who’ve been hitting us up since late last week about the agency closing were spot-on as The New York Post reports today that Lipman, which dates back nearly 80 years and worked with several notable fashion/beauty brands among other clients, abruptly shuttered operations last Thursday and left its staffers out in the cold. As you’ll read in the Post piece, the situation isn’t pretty.

-L.A.-based prodco BRW USA signed director James Mann for U.S. commercial representation.

-Fellow L.A.-based prodco Boxer Films has signed director Eduardo Vieitez for his first-ever U.S. commercial representation.

-Former Superfad NY creative directors Chase Hartman and Brian Drucker have formed a new design/animation shop dubbed Scout, which will be housed under the Alanda Ltd umbrella.

-Talent and production support services company Talent Partners has launched its Canadian operations with its hub in Toronto.
