Love him or hate him, the Aflac duck flies on. After receiving over 12,500 applications (most submitted online), the brand has chosen 36-year-old Dan McKeague of Hugo, Minnesota as its new spokesduck. And, judging by his smiling face and graciousness in the video above, McKeague will not be the asshole that his predecessor Gilbert Gottfried was.

In a statement, McKeague commended his new employers, saying,  “I want to thank Aflac for the incredible honor of voicing the greatest icon in corporate America and representing a company that not only leads its industry but also leaves a positive social imprint in every community it serves.” McKeague is currently the sales manager at Minneapolis radio stations KQRS and Love 105 where he has experience doing voiceover work. He serves as VP for the Board of Directors of Children’s Safety Centers in St. Paul, which “provides safe havens for children to hold supervised visits with non-custodial relatives.” Aflac’s new spot and McKeague’s first, “Pigeon,” will debut tonight on Aflac’s Facebook page. Congratulations, Dan!
