Over a Year After the Original, Anomaly Teases a ‘Gentleman’s Wager’ Sequel for Johnnie Walker

In July of 2014, Anomaly launched a six-minute online ad for Johnnie Walker Blue Label starring Jude Law, entitled “The Gentleman’s Wager.” The spot preceded Anomaly snatching the Johnnie Walker account from BBH last December, following  a review which launched in October. Now Anomaly has announced a follow-up, creatively titled “The Gentleman’s Wager II” with a 30-second teaser. 

Along with the return of Law and Giancarlo Giannini,  Jake Scott returned to direct the ad, which this time around will also feature actress/singer/director Zhao Wei in an attempt to appeal to the Chinese market. As for the plot, that also seems to be something of a reprisal of the predecessor, with Law this time attempting to win a classic car with a race to Monaco. Hopefully that means there won’t be a dance scene this time around. The 30-second trailer offers just a glimpse of the action, which (like its predecessor) will likely outstay its welcome in the full-length version, before promising a November 1 release.
