JWT and Geometry Global Name a New General Manager in San Francisco

Today in News We Missed, the shared San Francisco offices of J. Walter Thompson and Geometry Global have hired Ryan Lincks to replace the departing Brent Shedd as general manager.

Lincks will also serve as North American lead for the Treasury Wine Estates account; JWT won global creative duties for the Australian brand in early 2015.

He arrives at the WPP organization with well over a decade of marketing experience under his belt (and a possible passion for wine). Lincks most recently served as chief revenue officer at Bay Area agency Swirl, where he previously held the titles of director of business development, group account director and senior retail strategist. He also worked on the client side with roles at Popchips and Walmart.

JWT CEO of the Americas Stefano Zunino said, “Re-establishing our presence in San Francisco through this strong strategic alignment, and with Ryan leading the San Francisco office, furthers our overall approach for growth in North America.”

It’s unclear at this time why Shedd left JWT after five and a half years, though we hear that the decision was not mutual. He was previously general manager of Cheil Worldwide in Dallas after working for such agencies as DDB and Grey Interactive and co-founding the Dallas-based “drive through grocery” company Fresh Lane.
