Havas Acquires Ignition

By Kiran Aditham

It’s been a busy April for Havas. Just a week after acquiring Boulder crowdsourcing operation Victors & Spoils, the Paris-based holding company has bought up Atlanta/New York-based experiential shop Ignition as part of an  effort to boost the presence of its Sports & Entertainment network in the US. Ignition (not to be confused with Ignited) counts additional branches in London and Moscow, holds “global partner” status with Coca-Cola and has also worked with brands including ESPN, AmEx, Delta and Victoria’s Secret.

Despite the acquisition, Ignition’s management team including president Mike Hersom, CMO Cindy Ann Hersom and founders Dill and Susan Driscoll will remain intact. Now part of the Havas fold, the agency will kick things off by by handling activation efforts for the Olympic Torch Relay at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
