Geico, Xtranormal Bring You ‘The Return of Sexy Grandpa’

Is it strange to think that Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! might be the defining measurement of comedy for the first part of the 21st Century? What is it about poorly made television, nonsensical plot lines and stupid dancing that Americans can’t get enough of? Are we jaded cynics, or are we restless dadaists?

In any case, the folks at Geico and the Martin Agency are now two episodes in to their weekly web series, “The Made in 15 Minutes Variety Show” aka “Fantastical Fun Time Variety Show: The One That’s Super Cool with Times of Fun.” Debuting a new episode every Wednesday, Martin has chosen the easy to use (not the mention trendy) new way to create online movies with ease, Xtranormal. Of course, Geico took the production levels a bit higher than most Xtranormal users who post their videos online. After all, “The Return of Sexy Grandpa” features a old person dance-off on the moon, a good amount of explosions (‘SPLOSIONS), and a sad would-be bestselling-author who is also a clown.

So how about it, Adult Swim viewer? Did the Geico gecko, the cavemen, or the money with silly eyes not get the point across? Well buddy, it turns out the Geico “gets you,” almost as well as Old Spice “gets you.” And, really, what more do you want from a car insurance company than the feeling of mutual respect and understanding?
