Dolph Lundgren Returns from Obscurity to Introduce ‘The letgo Commercializer’

What has classic ’80s action star and former Master of the Universe Dolph Lundgren been up to when not starring in Sylvester Stallone’s latest bloated “Get the Gang Back Together and Get ‘Em Paid” epic? Making ads with CP+B Miami, of course.

The MDC shop launched a new campaign for secondhand marketplace app letgo featuring a new tool that lets users “Commercialise” the items they’re sellingo.

“Hi there, I’m what you calla bigshot Hollywood director,” says an actor at the beginning of the 60-second spot introducing the new “Commercialiser.” The ad goes on to introduce the concept and the four choices user can select from: an action trailer starring Lundgren, a home shopping segment, an over-the-top perfume commercial and a pharmaceutical ad that may feel a bit familiar.

All of the choices aim for humorous shenanigans, with some coming closer to hitting the mark than others. There are also previews of the ads users can select online, all with “Cuddly Teddy” as the example item (which does make for a kind of funny 80s action trailer). Users who opt to employ one of the “Commercialise” ads will find the ad living along side the product listing on letgo and can also choose to share it on social media.

The latter extends the usefulness of the tool, as it’s unlikely someone will be swayed by one of the goofy videos while browsing for used stuff but it may attract attention from an outside party on your social feed.
