Bastholm Takes Top Creative Post at Cheil U.S.

After spending some time traveling this fall, former Ogilvy NY chief creative officer/North American chief digital officer Lars Bastholm has returned to the ad scene to take on the CCO post at Cheil USA. Once he officially assumes his post on Jan. 2, Bastholm will partner up with Dave Weaver, president of Cheil’s One Agency, to relaunch Cheil’s U.S. network.

Bastholm spent barely a year as CCO at Ogilvy, which he originally joined in early 2009 after spending four at AKQA. From the looks of it, the new Cheil US creative boss is ready to get back into the trenches according to a statement in which he says, “After running large creative departments at Ogilvy and AKQA that is exactly what I was looking for – a chance to get my hands dirty again and build a creative organization that reflects the current state of advertising across any and all media.”
