AT&T Picks Stupid Fight with 4Chan

By Kiran Aditham

On the heels of receiving a somewhat unflattering tribute from some bloke named Pat Lee, AT&T is now stirring things up with 4chan.org, the free-for-all message board responsible for LOLcats, Rickrolls and plenty of NSFW imagery.

The fracas began when users of AT&T’s DSL services were blocked from using 4chan (though they’re apparently now unblocked), which coincided with a distributed denial-of-service attack on the board. While the two incidents haven’t been confirmed as related, AT&T did relay a message to CentralGadget.com, confirming the block and stating they contacted the 4chan owners giving specific reasons for the blockage which they wouldn’t disclose.

In true 4chan fashion, the board owners reportedly aren’t complying with AT&T’s requests for changes and instead its minions have sent false reports to CNN’s iReport that AT&T’s CEO Randall Stephenson OD’d on coke and died. You mess with bull AT&T, you’ll get the horns.
