Meet Dot, the 9mm-sized heroine in this new ad promoting the Nokia N8 who is responsible for setting the Guinness World Record for “Smallest stop-motion animation character in a film.” W+K collaborated with “Wallace and Gromit” creators Aardman Animations to tell Dot’s story as she battles her way through a world of common items and ultimately discovers a nicely crocheted solution.
The ad also introduces us to the Nokia handset’s CellScope technology, developed by Professor Daniel Fletcher, which let the creative folks involved execute the microscopic animation. Will this start a new trend? We’ll see, but check out a lengthier behind-the-scenes clip after the jump.
