David Bailey will join Grand Rapids ABC affiliate WZZM as an investigative reporter on September 1.

Bailey was the chief investigative reporter for WWMT in Kalamazoo, Mich. for eight years before leaving in April over a contract dispute.

“State rules have been adjusted, new legislation has been introduced, and criminal charges have been filed because of what David has uncovered,” said WZZM news director Taz Painter. “We’re excited to add his expertise and skill to our Watchdog Investigative Team, which is led by our Lee Van Ameyde.”

Before working at WWMT, Bailey worked for WOFL in Orlando, Fla., WXMI in Grand Rapids, WGXA in Macon, Ga. and WBOY in Clarksburg, W.V.
