Ann Marie LaFlamme is leaving Grand Rapids FOX affiliate WXMI to join Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ.
“Today is my last day at FOX 17 – I’m excited to be heading home to WXYZ in Detroit,” LaFlamme wrote on her facebook page yesterday. “Thank you so much for all your love and support here in West Michigan!
Mlive reports, LaFlamme was named anchor for the WXMI 11:00 p.m. news last May.
LaFlamme worked alongside Mitch Fick for the news broadcast airing after FOX 17 News at Ten, which debuted in January 1999, one hour ahead of the rest West Michigan’s TV stations, which aired evening news at 11 p.m.
The May 2014 debut of FOX 17 News at Eleven was accompanied by the slogan, “We changed our mind.”
She joined WXMI in March 2013 and also hosted “West Michigan’s Most Wanted.”
