Jason Hutton has been named lead sports anchor for WXMI.
Hutton takes the position after Mitch Fick left the Grand Rapids, Mich. Fox affiliate on September 2.
“I’m really excited about it,” said Hutton. “Ever since I decided I wanted to go into TV my goal was to be a main sports anchor, and to do it where I grew up is a dream come true.”

Mlive reports Hutton got a three year contract and will anchor the 5,6,10 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts.
Hutton joined WXMI in August 2006.
