WWAY morning anchor Jeff Rivenbark is moving to evenings to replace Randy Aldridge, who left the station in March.

Rivenbark will join Hannah Patrick at 6 pm on its ABC and CBS affiliate, at 7:30 on the CBS affiliate, at 10pm on the CW and again at 11 for the Wilmington, N.C. ABC and CBS affiliate.

The station said his experience, leadership, and integrity “will help guide our team at night as we embark on this new chapter.”

“My family and lifelong friends live here and keeping the people I love informed about news that matters is a very gratifying thing for me,” he said.

Bennett

The station has re-hired Matt Bennett to replace Rivenbark on the morning show. Bennett, who left the station in November was a reporter and weekend anchor at the station for five years, before leaving for a video job with the city of Wilmington.

“Although I intended to move on, I never really closed the door on local news or my WWAY family. When the opportunity to join the Good Morning Carolina team presented itself, I felt called to return,” said Bennett. “I’m excited to pick up where I left off, focusing on the issues that are important to the diverse communities across our region,” Bennett said. “I consider myself especially lucky to be surrounded by the talent and experience of Donna and Ramel as we continue this journey together.”
