Ben Dobson has been promoted within the NBC owned Station group to news director of WVIT, its owned station in Hartford, Conn.
According to his LinkedIn page, Dobson has been assistant news director at NECN since December 2014. He was managing editor at WVIT before joining NECN in January 2014.
He starts Monday, May 23, replacing Matt Piacente, who left the station in April to work at WFLD in Chicago.
