WUSA’s Jan Jeffcoat Will Follow Husband to L.A., Leave D.C. Station

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Longtime WUSA anchor Jan Jeffcoat is leaving Washington, D.C. five years after she began at the Tegna station.

She made the announcement last week on social media. Today she thanked viewers for well wishes.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the thoughts, congrats, prayers, well wishes, emails, texts, phone calls and many questions over our move out West,” she said in an Instagram post.

Jeffcoat says she’s leaving for Los Angeles so her husband, Matthew Kinsley, can continue to grow his TV agent business.

“He started his television/sports/entertainment agent business in Los Angeles and has been ready to make this move for a long time. This time I’m ready and so thankful for the grace upon grace upon grace God has given us for the journey ahead.”

Jeffcoat helped launch the Tegna station’s new morning show, Get Up DC, earlier this year with comedian Reese Waters.

She has been with the station since 2013.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the thoughts, congrats, prayers, well wishes, emails, texts, phone calls and many questions over our move out West. Thank you thank you!! (If u haven’t heard from me, Promise I’ll return every single phone call before I leave). 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Fearless and Forgiving… the two keys to success in business and in life. This guy learned that secret a long time ago, started building his empire and tried to get me to come along for the ride. I’ve made him take a few stops (thank you beautiful DC for being one of them) and created some speed bumps along the way but we’re finally headed back to where it all began. He started his television/sports/entertainment agent business in Los Angeles and has been ready to make this move for a long time. This time I’m ready and so thankful for the grace upon grace upon grace God has given us for the journey ahead. #nextlevel #thereismore #ready
