WTXF Viewers Replace Boy’s Stolen Wheelchair

By Andrew Gauthier

After WTXF aired a story about a disabled boy whose wheelchair was stolen in Philadelphia, concerned viewers from around the country contacted the Fox O&O offering to help.

As a result, the boy is getting a brand-new wheelchair today.

On Monday, WTXF told viewers about Dominic Pico, a 10-year-old who suffers from a rare genetic disorder that requires him to use a special wheelchair. Pico’s wheelchair, which retails for around $2,500, was stolen from outside his mother’s home over the weekend.

“For every creep who would steal a child’s wheelchair,” WTXF says on its website, “there were dozens of good-hearted people ready to respond.”
