WTVR Reporter Suspended After DUI

Mark Holmberg, reporter and commentator for Richmond, VA, CBS affiliate WTVR has been suspended after being charged with driving under the influence Friday morning, The Richmond Times Dispatch reports.

WTVR anchor Lorenzo Hall told viewers of Holmberg’s arrest during Friday’s 5:00pm news. In his report, he quoted station general manager Stephen Hayes as saying, “We take these allegations very seriously and we are looking into the matter further.”

New King County Sheriff’s Department said Holmberg was arrested on Interstate 64 around 2:30 Friday morning. Holmberg told the Times Dispatch he had a blood alcohol level of .1. The legal limit in Virginia is .08.

The station said Holmberg is due in court next Tuesday, July 2. WTVR declined to comment on the story.
