WTVR Anchor ‘Gravely Ill’ in Cancer Fight

Richmond, Va. CBS affiliate WTVR is letting viewers know anchor Stephanie Rochon’s battle with cancer has taken a turn.

Anchor Bill Fitzgerald told viewers Rochon hasn’t appeared on air since last August, “but it pains me now to inform you she is gravely ill.”

Rochon’s colleagues are wearing lavender cancer awareness ribbons in support. Both the station and her family are asking for support for Rochon, though her family says it wants “respectful privacy at this time.” WTVR is asking for comments on its facebook page.
