WTTG GM Thinks Nielsen is Antiquated

By Kevin Eck

The GM of Washington, D.C. Fox-owned station WTTG had something to say about the measuring tool stations use to set ad rates.

Paolini was a guest on the station’s podcast I Still Have a Keycard when he talked about Nielsen, how Fox News Channel is part of the competition and his affinity for tattoos.

“I think Nielsen, who measures us daily,” Patrick Paolini told host Sarah Fraser. “I think it’s antiquated. It’s old methodology. I don’t think they sample enough people in the market. I just don’t think they’ve evolved to measure local television the way it’s actually viewed and consumed at this point.”
