Chris Velardi, morning anchor for Hartford-New Haven ABC affiliate WTNH, says he’s leaving local TV to work at a PR firm.
“I believe this is what is best for my future and my family,” Velardi wrote on his blog adding, “‘Daddy’s sleep schedule’ won’t dominate the Velardi household anymore and we all look at that as an important component of this decision to take my career in a new direction.”
Velardi last day will be Friday. He started at WTNH in June 2000. He has also worked in Allentown, Pa. and Ithaca, N.Y.
