Norfolk, Va. CBS and CW affiliate WTKR-WGNT has named Skip Valet general manager and Ryan Minnaugh as news director.
Minnaugh takes over for Tina Luque, who was pushed out on her birthday in October. Valet joins WTKR-WGNT after leaving Orlando’s WKMG in June.
“Skip brings over 30 years of quality, results-driven leadership in television and multi-screen content,” said president of Dreamcatcher Broadcasting Ed Wilson.
“Ryan has a deep history of successfully leading newsrooms. Together with Skip, their leadership will help continue the growth of WTKR/WGNT,” said Kathy Clements, COO of Tribune Broadcasting.
Tribune operates WTKR-WGNT under a shared services agreement with Dreamcatcher Broadcasting.
Minnaugh, who starts December 7, last worked at WXIN in Indianapolis as assistant news director. He’s also worked at WTTV in Indianapolis, Ind., KDVR and KWGN in Denver, WOIO in Cleveland and CNBC.
